The historic old town of Jeddah is a must-visit spot. As it was the entry point by sea for pilgrims, Jeddah had a cosmopolitan air since the seventh century AD. You will see this cosmopolitan influence of rich merchants in the colorful houses, mosques, and museums of the old town. The colors, ambiance, and pedestrian-friendly streets will take you back in time. The old town is a Unesco heritage site and you will see a lot of restoration work in progress.
